VBS Volunteers
We are looking for crew leaders for VBS! Crew leaders volunteers must have completed 5th grade, love the Lord, love children and are ready for a week of adventure! They also commit to getting to know the children in their crews, assisting them as needed at the stations, leading them in discussion as directed by station leaders, encouraging good behavior, enabling safe travel in between stations and praying for the children. No advance preparation is required for this job except attendance at a crew leader training meeting either Sunday, June 2 at 9:45am or Wednesday, June 5 at 7:00pm.
Lunch for Habitat Workers
Help is needed to prepare and provide meals for the Habitat Build workers. Are you able to help by either preparing food, or serving once or twice? Sign up below and put your date preference in the Name line.

This training provides participants with the information they need to protect children they know and care for both in their personal lives and in the ministries in which they serve.
The Old Cheney Street Widening
The Old Cheney Widening
The scope of the widening project along Old Cheney Rd. from 70th Street to 82nd Street will involve installation of new drainage facilities, reconstruction of water mains and private utilities, construction of new street paving, retaining walls, bike trails, sidewalks and curb ramps, and installation of a new traffic signal, street lighting and communications infrastructure.
The Hole in Our Gospel

Richard Sterns, president of World Vision, one of the world’s premier relief and development organizations for the poor, attempts to answer this question with words and experiences of faith.
Book Discussion Group: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis
The letters of the infernal Screwtape, a senior devil, from a highly-organized, computerized Hell, deftly instructs his nephew, Wormwood, a junior demon, in the art of winning over a young man's soul. Not a sudden fall into mortal sin, but by routine and undramatic temptation of daily life. There is a presentation at the Lied Center on April 6 entitled: C.S. Lewis: The Screwtape Letters.
Valentine Decorations Needed
The Barnabas Community is throwing a Valentine's Day party for young children on Feb. 9.
Red and Pink decorations to the like of crepe paper and round plastic tablecloths, posters/signs, confetti, etc.
Any donations can be brought to the church office by Feb. 2.
Fleece Donations Needed
Fleece Donations are needed in 2 yd pieces to make fleeces blankets as a project in Confirmation. Solid and pattern fleece welcome.

Chili Contest
Do you have a famous chili recipe? Think it could win the taste test? Sheridan's Youth Ministries is hosting a chili cook-off with proceeds going to support the youth missions. Bring at least 2 quarts of chili to feed many eager judges (the people). Leftover chili will be sold to take home. To reserve your spot contact Cameron McDaniel no later than Jan. 27. All are welcome to participate in this event.
