SPIRIT QUEST

1st Graders through 5th Graders

 Spirit quest acitivity image

Spirit Quest is the name of our Sunday morning education program for children in 1st through 5th grades, offered at 9:45 a.m.  We are embarking on our seventh season of using the Workshop Rotation Model that uses multiple ways of knowing God through a series of interactive workshops.  The children will be divided into teams according to their grade.  Each team will rotate to a different workshop each Sunday during a 5 or 6-week unit as each child comes to learn and know God in different ways and through different experiences.  Each Spirit Quest workshop utilizes a particular learning style for its approach to the lesson.  Children come to know the Bible and God through a variety of ways—drama, art, storytelling, music, games, computers, science and cooking.

Each team of children will be led by Shepherds.  These adults take an active part in the class along with the  students, develop relationships with the kids, pray with them, and  assist them in processing the lesson through discussion and journaling.  Spirit Quest is now in the Summer Break.  Children's Church will run June 8-29 and August 3-24 during the 9:45 and 11:00 worship services.  Spirit Quest will resume in September, watch for more details.

Children's Message at Sheridan Lutheran         3 Year Olds through 5th Grade

Children’s Church is our Sunday morning education program.  At Children’s Church, children will begin worship with their parents, come forward for the children’s message, and then be dismissed for age appropriate activities using Kids Church curriculum.  Children will be able to explore the Bible story through hands-on activities including storytelling, games, computers and art.  We will utilize mixed age groups with Preschooler and Kindergarten children together in one area and 1st through 5th graders in another area.

Children's Church will run June 8-29 and August 3-24 during the 9:45 and 11:00 worship services.
