Education Mission Statement

The Mission and Vision of Sheridan's Education Ministries is to equip all of God's children, youth and adults to grow in, share and celebrate the life-long journey of maturing faith as we grow together in God's grace.  Our education ministries aim to help persons at different ages and stages consider their calling and role in passing on the faith to others.  The goal of many of Sheridan's programs is also to provide for opportunities for mission, outreach and service as multiple generations work and serve hand in hand together.

Each evening at 6:00 p.m. everyone will come together to experience a multi-sensory worship experience led by an intergenerational worship team. It is our hope that your family will enjoy faith development, family, fellowship, fun and food each week!
This year’s Wednesdays @ the Well children’s activities will bring God’s word to life in fun and exciting ways!

Music for Babies, 6 months-18 months (plus a parent) is a 30-minute class consisting of music and movement using body, scarves and rhythm sticks. Class is from 6:30-7:00 with intentional time for parents to stay and visit after class.

Two by Two’s (ages 18-36 months plus a parent) can participate in a 45 minute class involving Bible story, craft, snack and musical activities (songs, movement, instruments, scarves and finger play). This class is from 6:30-7:15.

Praise Kids (Preschoolers and kindergarteners) will focus on a Bible story using books, rhymes, songs, crafts and musical activities (colored bells, rhythm bands, musical chairs, etc.). This class is from 6:30-7:30.

First through fifth graders meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. They will begin with Bible activity time, then rotate through workshops, including computer, art, cooking, games and science.

This year we will offer music classes as a separate option to elementary students.   The music classes will include vocal choirs and handbell choirs.

Elementary and preschool children will present separate Christmas programs on December 16.  The elementary program will be at 3:00 p.m. and the preschool program will be at 5:30 p.m.  Dress rehearsals will take place on  December 8 and 15 from 9:00-10:30 a.m.

We will wrap up the year with an intergenerational event, “Galilee by the Sea” each Wednesday night from April 23 to May 21.
