Clinic with a Heart
Clinic with a Heart is a free faith based medical clinic that is open 7 nights a month at various locations in Lincoln. The first 4 Tuesdays of the month, the clinic is operated at the Center for People in Need at 3901 North 27th street.
Clinic with a Heart was founded in 2003 to provide free urgent healthcare to people in Lincoln. The clinic then assists in finding access to health care in the community. Clinic nights are run by volunteers (both medical and non medical.) The clinic provides medical, dental, mental health, vision, chiropractic care and physical therapy to its clients. The clinic assists with obtaining some medications.
Sheridan Lutheran has "adopted" the second Tuesday of every month. That means that Sheridan volunteers staff and run the entire clinic for that night. The clinic is open from 5:30 until 7:00 PM, and the volunteer time would be from 2-3 hours depending on each specific volunteer duties and when the last clients leave, etc.
