Children

Sheridan's Ministry for Children, Youth and Families is Living God's promises as the family of God to equip all to walk as disciples of Christ.

Our goals for each child, youth and family is:

• To know that God loves them unconditionally
• To have knowledge that the church is their family and they are valued
• To equip them with a servant heart and send them into the world to serve in Jesus name
• To have an active awareness that God is present in their lives
• To be encouraged to commit scripture verses, the Lord's Prayer, 10 commandments and the Apostles' Creed to memory using a systematic plan
• To learn the essential practices for a Christian way of life.

2011-2012 Registrations

The 2011-2012 Children's Ministry Registration forms for both Sunday Ministries and Wednesday's @ the Well Ministries are now available in the Great Hall, or to download at the bottom of this page. We ask parents to register their children for both Sunday and Mid-Week Activities.

Mission Projects

Sunday School children have the opportunity to participate in mission projects throughout the year through their Sunday School offering.  Offering envelopes will be handed out to children on Rally Day and will be available at the Connections Center in the Children’s Ministry Wing the rest of the year.  We invite you to talk with your children about various mission projects and to keep them in your prayers.

Our mission project for the month of September is Kids Against Hunger.  Kids Against Hunger is a nonprofit organization with the mission to significantly reduce the number of hungry children in the USA and to feed starving children throughout the world. This is achieved by harnessing the power of volunteers (ages 5 & up) to package highly nutritious food in over 50 food packaging satellites across the United States, 1 in Canada and 2 in Africa! Kids Against Hunger distributes a specially formulated rice-soy casserole meal to starving children and their families in more than 40 countries through orphanages, schools, hospitals and churches.

Faith Stepping Stones

Faith Stepping Stones are short courses presented in workshop format throughout the year. These workshops form the beginning of the Confirmation program and provide a special opportunity for parents and children to learn together about some important parts of a life of faith.
