Women's Activities
Sheridan’s women’s activities are designed to Encourage the hearts and minds of women to know, love and serve God. Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Sheridan’s Women’s Ministries Team is dedicated to nurturing each woman's relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ through spiritual growth, service, and fellowship. The goal is to encourage you to become involved in Bible studies that allow you to understand your calling to know Jesus, love God and others, share your faith with your family and friends and care for each other.
For more information concerning Women's Bible Study and activities, contact Kathy Paisley at 402-423-4769 ext 107.
Beth Moore Bible Study, "James: Mercy Triumphs", Thursdays beginning Feb 16
Your story is powerful. Your heartbreak, sickness and failures are not empty. Those holes in your heart leave space for mercy to fill, making you complete. Your life story is proof of that, just like James. Jesus’ own brother started out as a skeptic. But one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned this skeptic into a disciple. Be challenged and inspired to put your faith into action in practical ways, and get to know both the man and the Book of James. Join us for this 8 session study that meets morning or evening every other Thursday, (9:30-11:30am & 7-9pm, Room 316). Cost of the workbook is $15.
Lenten Supper Teams
Would you be interested in joining a team of women who would gather in the SLC kitchen on Wednesday morning or afternoon to prepare the food for our Lenten suppers? We would like to assemble three or four teams to accomplish this task each Wednesday beginning on Feb 22 and continuing through March 28. Please contact Kathy Paisley if you would be willing to join one of these teams. Teams would allow for flexibility and individuals would not need to commit to every Wednesday.
“Cancer with Joy” Seminar, Sat., March 24, 10am-noon, The Great Room
“Cancer with Joy” is a Seminar for cancer survivors, those currently in treatment, the newly diagnosed, and those on their support team (caregivers, family, friends, etc.). Our speaker, Joy Huber, is a stage four young adult cancer survivor and the founder and Author of "Cancer with Joy." Joy specializes in helping the newly diagnosed and those on their support team discover how to transform fear into happiness with resources, support, and encouragement. She wrote "Cancer with Joy" to be the essential resource for the newly diagnosed providing valuable information that saves precious time, energy, and money. Joy is an inspiration, and her humor and positive energy ignites others to transform their experience with cancer from negative to "Cancer with Joy." Joy also co-wrote the song "Bright Side Effects.” With over 1,500,000 people hearing "YOU have cancer." every single year in the U.S., everyone impacted by cancer can discover how they too can actually face "Cancer with Joy!"
