Adult Education Classes
Welcome to Sheridan Lutheran Church’s Adult Education programs! There are many opportunities for study, discussion, enrichment, and fellowship at Sheridan. We strive to equip all of God’s people to grow in understanding of Biblical truths as we share and celebrate the experiences of grace through faith that is ours through Christ.
An understanding of the Bible is an important tool that supports a life of faith, as we seek to become a disciple of Christ. You are encouraged to try an adult education program. It will give you strength for your journey. Classes are also a great way to meet and fellowship with other Christians in a smaller setting.
Spiritual Practices for the Lenten Season-Wed. 6pm or Sun. 9:45am, Feb. 24-Mar. 31
Info: r.bostrom@sheridanlutheran.org or k.paisley@sheridanlutheran.org
What makes Jesus so amazing is that he is God come down from heaven to live as a human – bound by suffering, pain, and betrayal. God did this for us, to show us his love and to save us through his life. Sometimes though, as humankind, we can feel so distant from Jesus. Throughout church history, followers of Jesus have taken on spiritual practices to aid them in their walk with our loving Lord. Each week, a new spiritual practice will be introduced with opportunity to discuss how we are walking with Jesus through our spiritual practices. Examples of spiritual practices would be centering prayer, Lectio Divina, examen, worship, guidance.
Walk With Jesus – Going Deeper with Spiritual Direction during Lent and Holy Week- Weekly appointments, space is limited, registration required
Info: r.bostrom@sheridanlutheran.org or k.paisley@sheridanlutheran.org
For those seeking a deeper spiritual experience during Lent, spiritual direction with trained spiritual directors will be made available. Weekly, one-to-one meetings with a spiritual director, will give you the opportunity to seek the presence of the Spirit within you. These meetings will offer you the time to discern how God is at work in your life. It is strongly recommended that spiritual direction participants take the “Walk With Me-Spiritual Practices for Walking With Jesus” retreat series in conjunction with these appointments.
