Holy Week Worship

Holy Week offers a chance to look at the events of Jesus’ last week. It is a time set apart to retrace the hours of Jesus’ sacrifice and great love for us. We begin with worship on Palm Sunday celebrating Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

On Wednesday, April 20th at 7:00 p.m., the drama and music ministries will present Journey to the Cross, a staged reenactment of the last days of Jesus’ earthly life.  Through worship, drama and music, we will walk with Jesus on his journey through events such as The Last Supper and The Crucifixion.  This year's reenactment will also include modern elements and characters that intend to connect our daily lives with the awesome sacrifice Jesus made for each one of us. These services will be the same each evening of Holy Week and will include Holy Communion. The drama does contain serious elements that may be difficult for some young children.  Childcare will be available during the Good Friday service.  The Wednesday evening service will be interpreted for the deaf.

On Maundy Thursday, April 21- We gather this day on which our Lord celebrated the Last Supper with his first disciples.  Worship is offered at 12:00 p.m. and our Holy Week worship and drama, Journey to the Cross, will again be presented at 7:00 p.m.

On Good Friday, April 22- We gather this day to remember the death of Jesus.  Worship is offered at 12:00 p.m. and our Holy Week worship and drama, Journey to the Cross, will begin at 7:00 p.m.  The Passion of the Christ will be shown in the Worship Center at 9:00 p.m., and the 12 hour Prayer Vigil following worship provides an opportunity for our faith community to remain in prayer overnight.

Easter Eve, April 23- Worship on Saturday at 5:30pm will be a celebration of hope, especially for those who have lost a loved one.

On Easter morning, April 24, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus beginning with a “Sonrise” service outdoors at 6:45am. (In case of inclement weather the outdoor worship will be moved inside to room 316). Our resurrection celebration will continue at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00am in the Worship Center. Our Men's Ministry will host an Easter breakfast from 7:00 to 9:30am.  The Sunday 9:30 service will be interpreted for the deaf.
