Holy Week Worship

Holy Week offers a chance to look at the events of Jesus’ last week. It is a time set apart to retrace the hours of Jesus’ sacrifice and great love for us. We begin with worship on Palm Sunday celebrating Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

On Maundy Thursday, April 1, We gather to remember and celebrate the Lord’s Supper on this day on which our Lord celebrated the Last Supper with his first disciples.  Worship is offered at 5:30 p.m.  Our Holy Week drama, The Journey to the Cross will begin at 7:30 p.m.  This is a contemporary dramatic presentation of the events of Holy Week.  Each worshipper will find themselves as an Eye Witness to the life-changing sacrifice and death of our Savior as we walk with him to the cross.  The Thursday evening drama will be interpreted for the deaf.

On Good Friday, April 2, we will remember the death of Jesus. Worship is offered at noon and 5:30 p.m. Our Holy Week drama, The Journey to the Cross will begin at 7:30 p.m.  The Passion of the Christ will be shown in the Worship Center at 9:00 p.m., and the 12 hour Prayer Vigil following worship provides an opportunity for our faith community to remain in prayer overnight.

Easter Eve, April 3, worship on Saturday at 5:30pm will be a celebration of hope, especially for those who have lost a loved one.

On Easter morning, April 4, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus beginning with a “Sonrise” service outdoors at 6:45am. Our resurrection celebration will continue at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00am in the Worship Center. Our youth will host an Easter breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30am.  The Sunday 9:30 service will be interpreted for the deaf.
