Habitat for Humanity - Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Building Hope, Building Homes.
January 3rd update: In 2011 we helped construct Lincoln's thirteenth Thrivent Build - Habitat House on site at 1133 Garbor Av., just a block north of the small shopping center at 11th & Cornhusker for the family of Thaer Al-Derawi, Mayyadah Al-Dahhan and their two children, Ali and Fatama.
Current status: Thrivent is sponsoring another build in 2012. The selection of the family and house site is pending.
Builds generally follow a similar construction schedule. Click on the following link to access schedule used in for the 2011 house.

Thrivent Financial typically provides the majority of the financing, but asks for matching dollars (typically $10,000) from Lincoln Area Lutheran Congregations. The overall cost of the house is reduced through donations of labor and some materials. When completed, the family will be required pay for the house via a zero interest mortgage. As payments are made, the funds are recycled to build additional houses.
Your prayers and your donations of cash, lunches and labor in support of this project will be gratefully accepted. Cash donations can be made through SLC by designating the Thrivent Builds project.
Thrivent requires 75% of the volunteer hours be provided by Lutherans. If you would like to help with this year's construction, please contact us at one of the links below so we can plan for your participation.
