Worship Arts

The Worship arts area serves through music, drama, visual media and sound. We reach out to believers and seekers who are looking for authentic worship in every element of the worship service.

If you have a gift in music, drama, computer graphics and/or sound we invite you to become a part of a vibrant and growing ministry. We need people of all ages. It is our desire that through this ministry you will grow deeper in your walk with God. You will have a great time, giving time, working hard and serving the community of believers at Sheridan. You’ll also learn much in your specific area of ministry. It is an environment of working together as a dedicated team for the good of the body of Christ.

You will experience personal satisfaction in fulfilling God’s call in a specific area of service. Each is unique in the gift he or she is given. It is our goal to present every believer complete in Christ. “We preach about him. With all the wisdom we have, we warn and teach everyone. When we bring them to God, we want them to be perfect as people who belong to Christ. That's what I'm working for. I work hard with all of Christ's strength. His strength works powerfully in me.” (Colossians 1:28-29). These are our driving principles as we allow God to impact the lives of the congregation as well as our own. We are serving one another but ultimately, we are serving Almighty God. Prepare to be blessed.

Praise Teams & Praise Bands

This is an auditioned group of multi-generational individuals who make up the vocal and instrumental ensemble leading the weekly worship services. They also perform for special and seasonal events through out the year. These teams rehearse every Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the worship center. For more information contact Kevin Wissink at k.wissink@sheridanlutheran.org

Orchestra

These are gifted individuals who have had experience and training in their specified instrument. The orchestra performs monthly during the Sunday services with rehearsals on Tuesday evening. For more information contact Kevin Wissink at k.wissink@sheridanlutheran.org

Celebration Choir

A group of passionate multi-generational individuals who perform regularly during each of the Sunday services. These rehearsals are on Tuesday nights. For more information contact Kevin Wissink at k.wissink@sheridanlutheran.org

Drama

Drama is used periodically during the Sunday services to enhance and reinforce the message of the sermon. A dinner theatre is an annual highlight with proceeds raised for specific needs in the community and special ministries of the church. Sheridan has preformed several musicals over the years including Godspell, Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Music Man and Children of Eden. For more information contact Kevin Wissink at k.wissink@sheridanlutheran.org

Visual Arts

Signing for the hearing impaired is a regular part of the worship services. Many who are hearing and hearing impaired also participate in the Sign Choir that performs special music regularly. Interpretive dance is also a periodic part of our worship services. Contact Trisha Knoell at t.knoell@sheridanlutheran.org or Kevin Wissink at k.wissink@sheridanlutheran.org

Computer graphics

We use visual screens for worship enhancement and to aid the entire worship experience. If you have a gift and desire to beautify and enhance the formatted screens from week to week, we welcome your participation. For more information contact Bryan Tepe at b.tepe@sheridanlutheran.org

Sound Enhancement

Sound technicians are an integral part of the worship service. The technicians work to make the entire service run smoothly from microphones and CD players to monitors and input levels. If you have an interest in this area or for more information contact Bryan Tepe at b.tepe@sheridanlutheran.org

Video Media

With weekly broadcasts on a local cable network, it is important to maintain a high level of broadcast excellence with the three-camera system currently in place in the worship center. With one fixed and two manned cameras, the services are recorded and edited to 30 minutes for three airings each week. If you are interested in producing, operating a camera or editing our weekly broadcasts please contact Bryan Tepe at b.tepe@sheridanlutheran.org
