Visitation
Ministers are those with specific
skills and training who have been assigned to a shut-in or
elderly person in our community. These compassionate caregivers
pray for the people whom they visit each day, phone them each
week and visit them each month. When possible and desired,
Holy Communion is also brought in and distributed.

Hospital
Visitors A skilled team of Sheridan members
are assigned specific days to visit those who are hospitalized.
Their compassionate care is sensitive to the needs of the
hospitalized and their families. A list of substitute
hospital visitors completes coverage for regular visitors
when they are unavailable. These former pastors
and lay ministers of our church serve as a liaison between
those hospitalized and the church and pastors on a daily basis
to assure they receive the support they need, including prayer
and communion or a pastoral visit, when needed.

Bus
Drivers & Assistants The Sheridan
bus makes rounds each Sunday to help our elderly attend worship
and many special services and activities. Men and women
with a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) are always being sought
to ddrive the bus and safety training is provided for assistants
who help in loading, unloading, care and safety during transportation
and transferring into the church. This ministry has
warmed the lives of many who would otherwise be unable to
attend worship and is uplifting to drivers and assistants
as well.

Babies
in Christ Mentors visit with
families when a new baby is born. In the ensuing weeks they
also pray for, phone and visit that family. Prior to the baby's
baptism they visit and prepare the family for the baptism,
teaching about baptism and walking the family through the
baptismal service. They also will host the family on the morning
of their baptism.

Meal
Ministry Nourishing Each Other Circles, other church groups
and individuals are doing an amazing job supporting each other
in times of trial. We strive to continue and supplement this
caring ministry by offering delivery of a Soup/Bread or other
meal, either fresh or frozen, to Sheridan members who go home
from a hospital stay (whether for illness or the joyful arrival
of a baby) or are otherwise facing difficulties of being homebound
due to illness, accidents, or family trauma.Contact Cheri
