Sheridan Lutheran Foundation
Creating a Legacy Phil and Karan Wittig "When we planned our gifts to the Sheridan Lutheran Church Foundation, we wanted to accomplish two things: we wanted to provide assistance to Sheridan Lutheran Church students who were planning to attend Dana College ( a Lutheran college) and we wanted to encourage the Church to expand the theological horizons of its members and reach out to the community. With these goals in mind, it was obvious the Foundation was the best vehicle fo us to accomplish our goals. We established two endowed funds within the Foundation to accomplish our goals, and we are very happy with the results. "For us, giving to the foundation is part of creating a legacy---our gifts will assist the Church with its responsibility of being a kingdom building church for many years." Helping Future Generations Paul & Kathy Ahrendt
"During the estate planning process, we knew we wanted our five adult children to receive equal shares of our estate, but also wanted a part of our estate to be given back to God in thanks for all of His blessings. So what we did was created a "sixth child"---the church. That way, the "sixth child's" share will go back to God to help satisfy the future needs of His church. We believe the Sheridan Lutheran Church Foundation is the best way to ensure that our faith will live on to help future generations know and love God. Plus, it's great to know that after we die, a small part of us will continue to build God's kingdom here on earth." |
It is a universal yearning to be able to reach beyond our life span to leave a mark on the world; to continue to help shape the future in significant ways. With the blessings we have received from God, we can make this happen. The Sheridan Lutheran Church Foundation enables us to do so. By giving to the Sheridan Lutheran Church Foundation, you will ensure your support of Sheridan Lutheran Church's ministries now and for decades to come. With a gift to the Foundation, you will:
Returning God's Blessings Glenn & Janice Friendt "We believe that all we have is a gift from God, and by giving to the Foundation, we can assure ongoing support for key ministries. We currently have an endowed fund at the Foundation that provides outreach to those in need and the prison ministry. by establishing this fund, we are able to provide a fairly reliable source of funding for special needs outside of the basic functions of our congregation. We've also planned a future unrestricted gift to the Foundation to support the needs of the Church after we have passed away. It is our hope that our gifts will help shape future generations so that they will be true to the Word and guided by the Holy Spirit. "for generations, maybe eons, those who survived knew that they must protect the "seeds" of life for the next season. That's what gifts to the Foundation provide---the "seed" capital to plant for another harvest." Supporting the Church Mission Walt and Jan Waltke "God gave his Son, and Jesus suffered, died and rose from the dead to provide the gift of salvation for us and all believers. As a way to express our thanks and praise for that wonderful gift, we have chosen to leave a future unrestricted gift to the Sheridan Lutheran Church Foundation. This provides us with an opportunity to put our faith in action, both present and future. Plus, it gives us great satisfaction knowing that our future gift will benefit future generations of Sheridan Lutheran Church, even after we have departed from this life."
