Saturday Mornings
MASCULINITY:
Will the REAL Jesus Please Stand Up?
“ I get mixed messages about what a man should be - - - somewhere between macho and milquetoast.
I know Jesus is GOD, but is he also someone I can look to as the ultimate man?”

For those of you with a Master Builder Bible for Men, this is Study #1 found on page M4 in the center section of your Bible. We will be alternating between the Option 1 and Option 2 studies each time we meet. I have duplicated the study outline above for your reference in case you may not have the Master Builder Bible. (If there are some of you who would like to purchase one of these Bibles, let me know. They are $20 each and we have a new supply available).
Invite someone to attend with you and give our study group a try any time you can! We meet on the 2nd and 4th Saturday's of each month at 7:30 am in the Sheridan Retreat Center. The coffee is always on and we enjoy great discussion and fellowship time together. Hope to see you there!
Sunday Morning
Each Sunday morning there is a Bible study for men. We meet 8:30 to 9:30 in the Conference Room. The men have the opportunity to grow spiritually and build their faith as they study the Bible with other men.
This group does not deal in deep theological issues. Our goal is to deal with our own faith and life issues, grow spiritually, support each other, and in the process engage in fellowship and become acquainted with the Bible (God’s instruction manual). The Master Builders Bible for Men is our primary resource.
Our study group decided to embark on a 26-week study of St. Paul's Epistle to the Romans that will take us into November 2008. As Martin Luther studied Romans he discovered that grace was the only way he could receive the gift of salvation and that attempting to achieve salvation by works was an exercise in futility. He says in the first paragraph of the preface to his commentary on Romans, "This Epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament and the very purest Gospel, and is worthy not only that every Christian should know it word for word, by heart, but occupy himself with it every day, as daily bread for the soul. It can never be read or pondered too much, and the more it is dealt with the more precious it becomes, and the better it tastes." Isn't that awesome?
Men of all ages are welcome to participate with us in our study and discussion. Contact Phil Wittig, at 402-261-8489 with questions or by e-mail at pwittig@neb.rr.com.
