30-Hour Famine and Lock-in
The 30 Hour Famine is a national hunger awareness event sponsored by World Vision, a Christian relief organization. During the event, participants raise money to aid starving children and raise awareness about hunger. Sheridan’s 30 Hour Famine is April 24-25. The fast is broken with commuion at the Saturday evening worship followed by a meal with parents. Participants (age 12 +) will compete for “survival” in a game called “Tribe,” serve the Lincoln community, and have fun . . . without food!
You can be part of the 30 Hour Famine event by contacting Amy in the church office. Even if you can’t make the event, you can still join us in fasting (going without something you use daily, like your tv, iPod, cell phone, txting), praying for the participants and the hungry around the world, or giving a financial gift online.
For every $30 Sheridan youth collect, we will help provide food and care for a child for a month. Sheridan youth participants have a goal to feed 50 children for a month. Help us reach it by donating today.
